SkillUp 4.0 was initiated by the Leo Club of the Informatics Institute of Technology (IIT) as an undergraduate internship readiness and career development program conducted from March to April 2026. The project aimed to equip students with the technical knowledge, professional skills, confidence, and industry exposure required to transition successfully into the professional world.
Recognizing the gap between academic learning and industry expectations, SkillUp 4.0 was designed as a comprehensive platform featuring initiatives such as a Panel Discussion, Career Development Sessions, CV Review & Mock Interview Sessions, Industry Visits, Technical Paper Assessments, and the launch of the official SkillUp digital platform.
The panel discussion and career sessions provided direct insights from experienced professionals on employability, industry expectations, and career growth. Personalized CV review and mock interview opportunities further helped participants improve their readiness for internships and recruitment opportunities.
To strengthen practical exposure, industry visits were organized to leading companies including WSO2, Virtusa, Alrium, and Rootcode, allowing students to observe real workplace environments and professional practices firsthand.
A key milestone of the project was the launch of the official SkillUp Platform, which provided centralized access to registrations, resources, and technical practice materials through Website: https://skillup.leoiit.org/
Participants were also able to access online technical warm-up papers and preparation resources through: Technical Paper Portal: https://skillup.leoiit.org/available-courses/
Through these combined efforts, SkillUp 4.0 successfully empowered students with the skills, knowledge, and confidence required to become internship-ready professionals
