The Leo Club of IIT has always been committed to creating meaningful and sustainable impacts within the community through hands-on service initiatives. This project was designed with the vision of enhancing public infrastructure and promoting environmental cleanliness, while empowering members to actively contribute towards the betterment of society.
The project focused on cleaning and restoring visibility of roadside signboards by thoroughly washing them and clearing the surrounding environment on both sides of the road, ensuring they are clearly visible and useful to the public. In addition, the initiative included the construction of a new bus stop at Nissarana Wanaya, Meethirigala, providing a safe and convenient space for commuters. The newly built bus stop was carefully painted and finished to ensure durability and usability.
Furthermore, several existing bus stops along the stretch from Pugoda City to Meethirigala were cleaned and refreshed, improving their condition and making them more comfortable for daily users. This project not only enhanced the physical environment but also contributed to public safety, convenience, and community well-being, while fostering teamwork, responsibility, and service-oriented leadership among the members.
